Our History

1995

It first began when some Indonesian students shared their desire to have an Indonesian Christian fellowship in the city of Eugene. They gathered and had fellowship with one another, and prayed faithfully for the growth of the fellowship. The fellowship grew in number and in 1996, they started to gather in the Northwest Christian College Music Building.

1997

The church in Eugene planted another church in Corvallis. Some young college students who relocated from Eugene in 1997 pioneered the church in Corvallis. As the fellowship grew they moved the location from an apartment to Kings Circle Assembly of God Church. The fellowship was growing and established as a church in the year of 1998 to further the growth.

July 2, 1998

Ps Oscar and Ellen Surjadi came from Indonesia to begin their journey to be the local pastor over Eugene and Corvallis churches.

1998

The Lord expanded our territory, we began to plant another church in Portland area in which first we started to meet at a Baptist Church over on Allen Blvd. In October 24, 1998 we moved our corporate fellowship at the Korean Mission Church in Beaverton. The number continued to grow as the Lord added the souls.

1999

The fellowship in Portland was officially started on April 3, 1999 as Oregon City Blessing Church. We continued to hold our Indonesian service at the Korean Mission Church.

2002

In August 2002, we leased a property together with a Hispanic Church over in Beaverton Tech Center area.

2004

In October 2004, we purchased a vacant church building at 450 NE 78th Avenue, Portland, OR and conduct our service at this property ever since. We also began to take another step to accomplish our vision by switching from Indonesian service speaking to English service speaking.

2010

Starting October 2010 we adjusted our church name to Portland City Blessing Church.
