Who We Are

Transforming our communities is our vision

Portland City Blessing Church aims to transform communities by equipping the volunteers for ministry work. There are four pillars that support the vision and mission of the church: care cells, compassion ministries, workplace ministries, leadership development.

Care cells are small groups where members can nurture each other and grow in a holistic manner. In compassion ministries, the church is connected to World Blessing Foundation (established in 1998) to bring relief aids across the world. Workplace ministries equip the volunteers to become a positive impact in their workplace, and leadership development aims to build and equip leaders through several partnerships such as Wagner Leadership Institute

Oscar & Ellen Surjadi

Blessings to everyone of you, especially to Portland City Blessing Church Family!

Happy 20th Anniversary to us!
It is such an honor & privilege for me and my wife to have pastored this church for the past 20 years. Yes indeed, the Lord has brought us from glory to glory through many challenges and victories, but God has always been faithful to us. Twenty is a pretty big number for an ethnic group church like us especially in the location where God has placed us in. We can truly testify and give God all the glory. If it’s not because of His grace and strength, we wouldn’t have been standing where we are today. I want to implore all of you to take the time to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for the milestone He has brought us thus far. A scripture came to my heart from 1 Samuel 7:12,  Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.  Just like what Samuel did for the people of Israel, I want to declare EBENEZER over our church.

Twenty years of age, our church has come into a new season. We’re no longer a youth but have become matured in many ways. I want invite the whole of Portland City Blessing Family to continue to grow in our walk with Christ. Never grow weary in doing good. Let’s exercise Christlike-ness in and through our lives. Show the world that we are truly the sons and daughters of the most high God. Keep Growing together!

My wife and I also, want to take this time to appreciate all the workers in our church, young and old, who have been faithful week in and week out doing the work of ministry with joy and excellence. You’ve have made countless contributions of time, energy, finances, prayers and many more to support God’s Kingdom in many different ways. You’re loved and appreciated! We are in this together as a team.
We would like to thank all the pastors who have made the effort to come from both out of town and in town to celebrate this amazing milestone together as God’s family.
And lastly, we would like to personally thank the Anniversary Team who has made this anniversary eventful and organized. We bless this Church. We bless each of you who has been part of our church family. We love you all.

Grow Together 2019,
Ps. Oscar and Ellen Surjadi
